Our dedicated families contribute an incredible 11,451 volunteer hours each year, enriching classrooms and shaping bright futures.

The Mission of the Hope School District is to develop in children the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to instill a lifelong love of learning and to become productive and contributing individuals in a changing society.

Hope School District is comprised of three award-winning elementary (TK/K-6th grade) schools located in Santa Barbara, California. Recent accomplishments include:

2023-2024 Academic Year

  • National Blue Ribbon School
    Hope Elementary was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2023, a prestigious honor awarded to schools that demonstrate exemplary academic performance and a commitment to fostering student achievement.

  • ACSA Region 13 Superintendent of the Year
    Dr. Anne Hubbard, Superintendent of Hope School District, was honored as the ACSA Region 13 Superintendent of the Year. This recognition celebrates outstanding leadership in education across the Central Coast and North Los Angeles area, from San Luis Obispo to North LA.

  • SELPA Special Education Administrator of the Year
    Kristin Lindquist, Director of Special Education, was named the SELPA Special Education Administrator of the Year. This award acknowledges her exceptional leadership in supporting students with special needs and advancing inclusive practices within our district.

    Allison Heiduk, Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), was named County Teacher of the Year, honoring her outstanding contribution to education and innovative leadership in the classroom.

Past Achievements

  • California Distinguished Schools
    All of our schools have been recognized as California Distinguished Schools in the past. Although the award’s protocol has changed in recent years, we continue to be proud of the strong academic foundations and leadership that earned these honors.

  • Monte Vista Elementary School

    Monte Vista Elementary is home to just under 300 students from kindergarten through 6th grade. With the beautiful Santa Ynez Mountains in the backdrop, its campus is home to many happy Monte Vista Mustangs

  • Hope Elementary School

    Hope Elementary is home to just under 300 students from TK (transitional kindergarten) through 6th grade. Just like the waves in the nearby Pacific Ocean, our Hope School Waves are dynamic, powerful, and in constant motion.

  • Vieja Valley Elementary School

    Vieja Valley Elementary is home to just over 300 students from TK (transitional kindergarten) through 6th grade. Its serene campus is located at the base of Hope Ranch neighboring several local horse stables. Go Chargers!
