A Foundation For Hope.
What is the Hope School District Educational Foundation?
The Hope School District Educational Foundation (HSDEF) was founded in 1993 in response to state budget cuts and funding reductions for school programs.
We are a community-based, registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to providing sustained financial support to the Hope School District, which is comprised of our three award-winning elementary schools: Hope Elementary, Monte Vista, and Vieja Valley.
What does the HSDEF do?
The HSDEF’s work promotes academic excellence and champions innovation through the improvement of our outdoor spaces open to the community. In order to further foster innovative curriculum and instruction, we focus on capital improvements of our collective facilities. See our mission statement here.
Who is involved in the HSDEF?
The HSDEF is run by a board of primarily parent volunteers and teachers whose children attend the district's three award-winning elementary schools. Check out our current Board Members.
To ensure maximum impact, the board works collaboratively with the district's three PTAs, each individual school's on-site council, administration, teachers, and district school board to identify ever-evolving funding needs and determine future priorities.
We are always looking for new board members who bring fresh ideas and expertise to the table, and we love to hear from our extended Hope community.

How is the HSDEF funded?
The HSDEF is proudly supported by local corporations, businesses, and families, as well as through grants and outreach efforts by our dedicated members. Since our schools serve as a valuable resource for the community, we actively seek donors who can benefit from our outdoor facilities or who share our belief that every child deserves access to enriching outdoor learning and activity spaces.
